Bright, Bold and Beautiful - Make-up to brighten up January!

I have been thinking about this for a while. January is depressing, and not just a little bit either. We have all spent up at Christmas. It's dark when you get up in the morning, dark when you come home in the evening, cold, windy and to top it off, snowing. But before we all dig a hole and hide away until the sun comes out in June, there is a way of making us feel that little bit better. Make-up. And lots of it.

With A/W lines being full of earthy colours and thick woolen fabrics, make-up is one way of brightening up your life whilst we are waiting for the green shoots of spring. So today I am suggesting we all go bright, bold and beautiful with our make-up, because you never know - it might make you smile!

Now, don't get me wrong i'm not suggesting we all start painting on our clown make-up, just saying let's put away those muted colours a little earlier this year and dig out those colours you would only get out during your holidays.

Here is a great example of how to do bright, bold and beautiful, turquoise, green and blue eyes give a holiday feeling, like you should be out walking on a beach in the Mediterranean somewhere.

Key colours/themes for this look:
Eyes: 3 colour combinations; blues and purples, greens and yellows etc mixed with a black liner.
Lips: Bright reds or pinks such as Barry M Lip Paint Lipstick; Vibrant Pink (£4.10).
